Note: The information in the graph above is compiled from the symptom data that has been contributed by our users on this site. It relates only to the luteal phase, the period of days past ovulation DPObetween ovulation and when menstruation would be expected to begin if pregnancy has not occurred.
The information must be distinguished from results and statistics in pregnancy literature about "early pregnancy", which generally refers to a much longer period. The chance that spotting will happen on any given DPO is greater for non-pregnant women than for pregnant. In DPOs this means that spotting is a slightly negative indicator for pregnancy. In DPOsin contrast, it is a strongly negative indicator since the primary cause of spotting in those DPOs is oncoming menstruation.
The large bulge in the non-pregnant curve shows this clearly. The curious fact that chances of spotting are higher for non-pregnant cycles in DPOseven though this is before implantation occurs, is something for which we have no explanation at this time.
The occurrence of spotting increases steadily, and in parallel, from DPO 5, in pregnant and non-pregnant cycles, reaching its peak at the time when menstruation occurs, or would have been expected to occur. This phenomenon is confirmed in the literature. That is to say, spotting, generally, is a negative indicator for pregnancy.
The process of implantation usually occurs between DPOs 6 and If implantation spotting happens, it should be in that interval. Implantation spotting implies pregnancy, and so if implantation spotting is a significant component of the total spotting in DPOswe would expect a bulge in the pregnancy curve and a noticeable increase in POP among those experiencing spotting in the implantation window.
Such expectations are not met in this graph. The pregnancy curve rises smoothly in parallel with the non-pregnant curve and there is no increase in POP.
We have to conclude that implantation spotting, if it occurs at all, is so infrequent that it has no impact on the shape of the pregnancy curve.Spotting after ovulation is light bleeding that occurs in the time following release of an egg from your ovary.
It is a common phenomenon experienced by a good number of women. It can occur from a day to a week to 12 days after your ovulation is over. The spotting often of a pink color and is very light. At times, brown bleeding after ovulation can occur to signify various aspects including a pregnancy or disease.
Whichever day you see the scanty bleeding after ovulating, here are the possible reasons. The general expectation is that there should be no spotting once you have had your periods. However, it is not a rarity to observe some form of spotting especially of a brown or pink color. This discharge is different from that experienced during menstruation given that it is light and does not contain the red-colored blood clots that are observed in a period.
The spotting can occur from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, days to a week and even on the 8 th and 9 th days after the ovulation. While the spotting may be a surprise to some women, it should not warrant panicking especially after you learn of the reasons why it occurs. To draw a line between ovulation spotting and menstruation, one has to look at the color and amount of discharge.
With ovulation spotting, the color ranges from light pink to brown. It does not contain red blood clots and, if they are there, they will be very few. On the other hand, menstruation will be a deep red color and very heavy such that it requires a sanitary towel or tampon to keep clean.
If you see such a color and according to your menstrual cycle it is around ovulation time, then all is well. However, if you feel any vaginal itchiness or a dark brown discharge that has a foul smell to it, then a visit to the doctor is warranted.
BFP 14 DPO w/ Spotting
There are many reasons behind the light pink spotting after your ovulation. There is no way to know exactly what it is unless a medical doctor has done an examination of your condition. While the plain discharge should not alarm you, any other signs may indicate a different condition.
The following are the likely causes of the spotting after ovulation. When a light pinkish discharge is noted a few days after ovulation, the first thought in women is often pregnancy. 9 DPO implantation bleeding? TMI WARNING
It makes me wonder if this is IB or my period coming earlier than expected. Anyone go on to have light pink bleeding for just a few hours and go on to have a BFP that cycle? Well the timing is just about right for implantation bleeding.
I had it with both pregnancies. Pay attention to whether or not it gets heavy enough to fill a pad or turns red. But like I said, implantation typically occurs around 9 dpo I'd take a test tomorrow if the spotting doesn't get heavy. Today would probably still be too early. Yep, I will wear a panty liner today to be on the safe side. Did you have any symptoms with the light spotting? I will test with a FRER tomorrow morning.
I don't want to get my hopes up and will just see what happens. I was 10dpo when the blood was drawn. But my RE didn't say anything about it. Just marked normal. But I wonder why it was so low.
Maybe I didn't ovulate at all? Who knows. Maybe this month was an anovulatory cycle? It was pretty strange because my surge came and went over night. I checked at 5pm I had blinking smiley face. Then checked at 10pm solid smiley face. Then next day open circle. That is the first time it ever happened. So maybe I geared to ovulate and didn't? Maybe I should try an HSG this time around. I don't know. But I eat healthy and workout times a week.Join now to personalize.
I have irregular AFs and this is just driving me nuts. Cramps like AF was coming.
Then a little tiny bit throughout the day of very light brown when wiped and twice I had like this pink TINY tissue looking stuff. Then nothing. Today 11 DPO barely anything at all. What's going on. I almost would just prefer to get AF than drive myself nuts. I wish I never even heard of this implantation bleeding deal because it can really drive you crazy.

I'm really trying to not get my hopes up though I'm only 9 DPO so I hope not, but who knows. My breasts are still somewhat tender, but not as bad as a few days ago. The tiredness is still coming and going, but not quite as intense as days 3 and 4.
However, I've had a few pretty intense dizzy spells in the last few days. I bent down to pick something up off the bottom shelf at the pharmacy and got really really light headed and then felt shaky and as if my heart was going a mile a minute. This was right after lunch and this has happened more than once lately right after a meal When I tested this morning I thought I saw something, but the more i look at it, the more I'm convinced it's just an evap line.
